I have had a lot of great experiences this year. I am thankful for so many things and so many people. The reality of my dreams of being an artist are all around me. There have been so many people who have been there for me.
One of those people is Lesley Riley. I took a few classes from her a few years ago. When I was at the start of my recent artist journey to focus on my art, I hired Lesley to be my creative coach for a year. She is always so giving and supportive to other artists. I can relate to Lesley because she started her own artist journey later in life. It’s one thing to start this journey right out of college, its another when you’re reaching your half-life milestone.
If you know anything about Lesley, you know that she really loves quotes. Earlier this year, Lesley put out a call for artist to create works to illustrate quotes for a book she was self-publishing. I sent her a couple of my pieces to consider and she accepted one for publication.
This week Lesley officially published the book and it is with great pride and honor that one of my pieces is featured in the book. I’m waiting to get a copy of “Quotes Illustrated” available at Amazon.com (click here for a link to the book) and in the upcoming weeks I’ll show you a picture of my creation. If you’re looking for a great gift idea for the holiday, I can say (with some bias – I admit) that this is one gift idea that would be good for just about anyone. Great art and great quotes. Who wouldn’t love a book with motivational quotes?
Well, until next week, enjoy time with your family, be safe in your travels and be thankful for all that you are.
