Life can be an up and down journey. You have good days and bad. Some days I feel like I’m concurring the world and other days I feel lucky just to be getting out of bed. You just have to roll with the punches, keep moving and focus on what is good. There is always good, even at the darkest times.
My creative motivation is a little lacking right now, but I’m doing my best to stay focused. I’m sure it is because of the shorter days. With the sun going down early, I feel like I should be heading to bed by dinner time. I’m having a race against my mental clock that says “Go to sleep, because it is dark out.” In just a few more weeks, we’ll be on the up side of winter darkness. I love winter, but I’m looking forward to more daylight.
In the midst of this struggle with motivation, a package appeared in my mailbox last week. A gift from Lesley Riley.
I am published! See good things happen!
There amongst the 130 quotes and the work of over 100 artists, on page 21 as a matter of fact, is my lion friend. The quote reads “It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.”
Lesley is a collector of quotes. She asked artists to illustrate the quotes for her. Then, with the help of North Light Books, she compiled the results into this awesome book which overflows with inspiration. The book pages are perforated, so if you see a page you really like you can pull it from the spine and display it somewhere prominent. Use it as a reminder or an affirmation or just admiration of the artwork. Very cool concept. I’m ever so honored to have my artwork published within this collection.
