The Wednesday before my Artist Reception at Eye Candy Gallery. I’ve been planning for this for the past 6 months. There were times, if you follow my blog, where I didn’t have any creative energy. Then, there were times (like the last 2 months) where I created 4 new pieces.
Its funny how creative energy works. I know I’m not a production worker. I have a difficult time mass producing multiples of any one thing. I know a lot of folks who do production work with ease. For me, I start stressing under that kind of pressure and get very bored.
I think it’s important as an artist to realize what works for you and where you fit in. I spent a lot of years trying to figure that out about myself. I’m still learning. Its like that commercial where the guy asks the kids “What’s better faster or slower?” or “What’s better more or less?”
I think we must always ask ourselves “What’s better?” And the the biggest part of the question is explaining the reason for your beliefs. By determining the reason behind what you think, helps solidify what makes you tick.
I found my artistic voice and I’m grateful to have opportunities to share it. This month, I hope you get the chance to visit my work at Eye Candy and see first hand what makes me tick.
