Happy New Year!

Reversible Tote cat-sideI welcome you to 2014! I hope this past year was filled with wonderful things and that this new year holds nothing but creative magic for you.

As part of my new year resolutions, I’ve decided to continue to reduce the amount of material things I hang on to. I know I’ve been very fortunate in life.

This past year, I taught a class on the totebag I designed several years ago. I have several of these bags and just love them for hauling things. In preparing for the class, I had to make a new bag for demo purposes. Reversible Tote dog-sideIt’s a reversible bag with cats on one side and dogs on the other. The cat and dog fabric was designed by my friend Mark Hordyzynski. I finished it up a couple weeks ago and decided that I didn’t need one more bag..but maybe you do…hmmm?

As a welcome gift to the new year, I will send this bag to one lucky person. All you have to do is leave a comment (below) before January 8 and tell me what you’re working on for the new year. On January 8th, I’ll use a random number generator to pick a lucky winner from the comments.

If you want to make a bag of your own, I have the downloadable pattern available on my Etsy store.

Good luck and until next week, keep enjoying a creative life and have a Happy New Year!

And the winner is Laura! I’ll be in touch with you about delivery.

What an adorable tote. I can forsee using it to carry Bashful’s food, treats and cans of green beans to the kennel when we go out of town. It would certainly be a welcomed reminder of the talented person who made it! My plastic Fresh Market bag is beginning to wear out! Happy New Year, Nanette and happy sewing!

  2. Jennifer June says:

happy New year! So glad your creative juices are flowing. My husband handed me a bag full of labels he has removed from his clothes since the Navy,OMG so my challenge is to use them on an art quilt. I have sketches all over the place with ideas swarming around in my head!

  3. Kate Mahony says:

This doesn’t look like the same bag we made, the proportions seems different…but I love it!

  4. Joy Loesch says:

I am working on a knitting design that is a beach scene. I will also be working on other landscape things that I will incorporate a combo of knitting, beads and felted wool.

  5. What can I possibly have to say, except, “I love it!”? Happy New Year. Just one thing to remember regarding your cleaning out your stash: Nature abhors a vacuum…

    Warmest Regards,
