I belong to PAQA-South (Professional Art Quilters Alliance-South). Yesterday, I spent the day with fellow textile artists hanging an art quilt exhibit at Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary, NC entitled ARTQUILTSconnections. I’m currently the president of PAQA-South and have been a significant player in producing our shows the last couple years.
If you’ve never done anything like this, it is a lot of work, but also very rewarding. So many details that need attention. We started work on it in early May and yesterday it was finally hung. Makes me very happy to see the results.
What makes me even happier is knowing that 2 of my quilts are hanging in this show. The people in charge of positioning the quilts on the walls found it appropriate to hang mine near each other. They are also pleasantly hung next to 2 quilts by a fellow member, Lynne Harrill. I love Lynne’s quilt and the collection of our quilts together just look perfect. I’m very pleased.
I know I may be biased, but this is a fabulous exhibit. If you are in the area, I hope you can get the chance to see it yourself.
